Family Claims Hospital Did Not Hand Over One Twin
A troubling case has emerged from Civil Hospital Quetta, where a family has alleged that one of their newborn twins went missing after the delivery. The incident reportedly took place in the hospital’s gynaecology ward, where the mother gave birth to twins.According to the father, identified as Shehzad, medical records and an ultrasound report showed that the family expected two babies, while hospital records also documented the birth of twins. However, the family says hospital staff handed over only one newborn and have yet to provide a satisfactory explanation about the whereabouts of the second baby.
Father Demands Answers
The father has expressed serious concern over the alleged disappearance and appealed to hospital authorities to immediately clarify what happened to his second child. According to his account, both the ultrasound report and hospital documentation contained information about the twin pregnancy and birth. The family therefore wants authorities to determine how one newborn allegedly became unaccounted for after delivery. The allegation has raised concerns about record-keeping, newborn identification, and security procedures inside the maternity ward.
Hospital Forms Investigation Committee
Civil Hospital Quetta Medical Superintendent Dr. Abdul Hadi Kakar said that the hospital has formed a formal investigation committee to examine the matter. The committee will review the different aspects of the case and determine what actually happened. Hospital authorities said they will share the facts once they complete the investigation. At this stage, no official finding has confirmed that someone stole or abducted the newborn.. The circumstances surrounding the second baby’s whereabouts remain under investigation.
Investigation Expected to Examine Hospital Records
The inquiry is expected to examine the medical records, delivery documentation, and procedures staff followed after the twins were born.. Investigators will also need to establish how many newborns staff recorded at the time of delivery and whether the hospital properly followed its identification and handover procedures.. Such records could be important in determining whether the discrepancy resulted from an administrative error, a medical-record issue, or another circumstance.
Family Awaits Information About Newborn
For the family, the priority remains finding out what happened to the missing newborn. The case has also renewed attention on the importance of proper security and identification systems in maternity wards, particularly when medical staff deliver and transfer multiple newborns between units. The exact circumstances remain unclear until the hospital completes its inquiry. Authorities are expected to establish the facts and assign responsibility based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
