Despite improving on his previous best mark of the season, the distance was not enough to put him among the medal winners.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Sri Lanka\u2019s Rumesh Tharanga Wins Gold<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Sri Lanka\u2019s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage produced the biggest throw of the competition to win the javelin title. Pathirage threw 91.09 metres, continuing his outstanding 2026 season. He had already established himself as one of the leading javelin throwers of the year with a 92.62m world-leading mark earlier in the season. His victory added another major title to an impressive year for the Sri Lankan athlete.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Strong Field in Budapest<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Nadeem faced a highly competitive field in Budapest. The eight-man final included several major championship winners, including reigning Olympic champion Nadeem and reigning world champion Keshorn Walcott. Anderson Peters, Julian Weber and other leading throwers also competed.
