KP Fires 30 Doctors, Orders 6 Afghan Doctors to Leave Pakistan

Doctors and medical staff wearing white coats and stethoscopes, illustrating the KP fires 30 doctors news about the dismissal of 30 doctors and orders for six Afghan doctors to leave Pakistan.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has reportedly dismissed 30 doctors over issues involving medical registration documents. Separately, six Afghan doctors at Saidu Sharif Hospital in Swat have reportedly been ordered to leave Pakistan following instructions linked to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

30 Doctors Dismissed Over Registration Documents

According to reports, the KP Health Department took action against 30 doctors over allegedly fake PMDC registrations and certificates. The department issued a notification outlining the dismissals on October 13, 2026.

Six Afghan Doctors Affected in Swat

In a separate development, six Afghan doctors at Saidu Sharif Hospital were reportedly told to leave their hostel accommodation and depart Pakistan. The action was linked to instructions concerning their status and eligibility to continue medical training in the country.

PMDC Rules at the Centre of the Issue

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council regulates medical registration and professional eligibility in Pakistan. The reported cases highlight the importance of valid registration documents and compliance with the rules governing medical practice and training.
However, the dismissals involving the 30 doctors and the orders affecting the six Afghan doctors are separate matters and should not be treated as one action.

Court Proceedings Involving Afghan Doctors

The situation also comes amid legal proceedings concerning Afghan doctors in Pakistan. In September 2026, the Peshawar High Court reportedly granted interim protection to 17 Afghan doctors, allowing them to continue postgraduate training while their case proceeded. The precise scope of that court order in relation to the six doctors in Swat needs to be verified.

Questions Remain Over the Impact

The decisions have raised questions about the affected doctors’ employment, training, and legal status. Further official details are needed to establish whether the doctors can appeal the decisions and how the measures may affect hospital staffing.

More Details Awaited

Authorities have reportedly taken action over medical registration concerns and the status of foreign medical trainees. Further clarification from the KP Health Department and the PMDC would help establish the full circumstances of each case.
